Hello, we are Lisa and Andy and we live in the seaside town of
Felixstowe in Suffolk. We have four children and two bulldogs Ruby
and Honey. We are strictly hobby breeders and our dogs live in our
home with us as part of the family.
I have always loved animals and have had many pets over the years
from tortoises to a horse. As a child I had a dog, several cats and
a snake and I loved them all. For Andy, there was only one pet that
he wanted- a bulldog, so when the children begged for a dog there
was only one way to go…

In September 2005, after
many months of searching for the right pup, our beautiful Ruby
(Schorl Tigers Eye), daughter of the stunning Quintic Samba,
arrived in our family and we instantly fell in love with her.
She has always been a typically soft, sweet natured bulldog
who is adored by us all. She is like a big cuddly teddy bear
and she gets plenty of cuddles and attention.

Anyone who has a bulldog will tell you that
once you have one, you will want another. It was our happiness at
having our Ruby, her soft nature and excellent health and bulldog
breed conformation that led us to the decision to breed from her, so
that we could keep one of her pups.

We spent several months
searching for the right dog, and in April 2007 we took her to
visit Kay and Paul at UKbull in Essex. They have been
fantastic in giving us the benefit of their experience and
providing us with help and advice every step of the way, thank
you to them. Their handsome stud dog Alfie (Celticpride
Maximuscle son of Britishpride Goldcoin at Celticpride) and
Ruby were handled with great expertise and care by Paul and
Kay and we were overjoyed when Ruby produced eight gorgeous
healthy pups in June 2007. |

Choosing which one to keep was almost impossible. We even
seriously considered keeping them all, but alas, we would not
have space for nine!! In the end, there was one we just could
not part with; we called her Honey (Burning Gold Beauty). She
has grown into the most stunning red and white bulldog like
her father, with her mother’s sweet nature-a fantastic
combination.

I was in my element. Caring for those pups was
the most satisfying thing I had done in years and we were so proud
of them and of Ruby, who was such a great mum. So we decided that we
would like to breed Ruby again when the time is right and Honey in
the future, when she is ready. The litters will be carefully planned
and we will be taking our time with each one, we will not rush
things and the welfare of our dogs is paramount. Therefore we will
always be happy to answer any questions about owning a bulldog and
we would always be available for advice for anyone owning one of our
puppies. We take great care to ensure our dogs stay fit and healthy.
They get lots of exercise and top quality natural food. Nothing but
the best for our dogs.
We decided that as we intend to breed again in the future, we should
have an affix to identify all our future pups. We thought long and
hard, looking for something depicting strength, local interest and
history to represent the long history and character of the bulldog.

Not far from us at
Sutton Hoo is a Saxon burial site of great importance. We have
been there many times to walk the dogs and were inspired by
the history and ancient relics found there, we decided to use
it in our affix. So we decided on Saxongold and this affix was
granted to us by The Kennel Club in September 2007. Our
journey with bulldogs has begun and we hope you enjoy sharing
it with us. |
